Lodge Cottrell offer high performance flue gas treatment systems for the removal of acid and poisonous gases, heavy metals and dioxins from flue gases emanating from waste incinerator plants, cogeneration plants and from fossil-fuelled boilers.
The Gas Suspension Absorber (GSA) has been specially developed for efficient and economical removal of acid gases and can easily be integrated into new or existing plants. The semi-dry GSA can be incorporated into a complete gas cleaning system equipped with Lodge Cottrell electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters or ceramic filters and is located between the incinerator or boiler and the precipitator or filter plant.
Flue gases are fed into the bottom of the GSA reactor where they are mixed with vaporized lime slurry. The lime slurry reacts with the acid flue gases, thus capturing and neutralising them. The partially cleaned flue gases are then passed on via a separating cyclone to the precipitator or filter plant.
Paper given to the Filtration Society Lodge Cottrell explores the pros and cons of moving from ESPs to Fabric Filters. The case to move to barrier filtration is not always as clear as it may seem. More >>>
